"Portals of the Ancients" begins on the volcanic planet Promos, home of the Promosatti priests, at the Gate of Drakaar.
Fallen angel Falonayus, Ruler of the Underverse, escapes from the gate.
Falonayus flies over the Plane of Despayre, the border zone between the material plane and the Underverse, which lies beyond the Gate of Drakaar.
